Midget Coach: Dave Johnston - 780-478-8676 Stephanie Thomas - 2007 Spalding Softball Alberta Minor Female Player Of The Year Stephanie is not only an outstanding softball player, but more importantly she is an outstanding individual. She has been playing softball in the Edmonton area for the past 6 years, after moving from Vancouver. The past 2 years she has pitched for the 89 Warriors. Her commitment to the sport is evident as she attends ever game and practice. She also attends private pitching sessions in Edmonton, and every possible pitching clinic that she can. More importantly, she is the consummate teammate. She is focused on team goals rather than individual awards. The past season was a very successful one for Steph. She pitched 4 games at the Midget "A" provincials, including a "gem" in one of the final games against the Canadian Extreme. She pitched a complete game 3 - 1 victory that led the 89 Warriors to the Midget "A" Provincial Championship. She also earned a scholarship to pitch for the University of Minnesota this fall. Despite having to deal with the unexpected loss of her father, Ken Thomas, Steph was the ultimate team player and played in the 2007 Midget "A" Canadian Championship. Given the circumstances, Steph pitched remarkably. She truly was an inspiration to everyone on the team and to everyone that knows her.
